What is Checkout 51?
The offers change every Thursday so remember to check the app before you do your shopping for the week.
Checkout 51 is another very popular cash back/rebate app that I use when I’m “couponing“. This app has mostly food/snacks offers so it’s perfect for anyone who wants to save money on groceries (similar to the SavingStar app). It’s not just grocery offers though, they often have personal care items and household items on there too (like laundry and cleaning products).

How it works?
- Find offers for products you want
- Load them into your account
- Buy the products in store
- Scan your receipt
- Get cash back
Checkout 51 is a little picky about how their offers can be used. You need to read all the offer details before you make your purchases. You might notice that some offers exclude the use of coupons or other cash back apps (What does this for you? I have some specific tips for you in my blog post: “Why you should have dedicated email addresses for “couponing“). When the offers exclude coupon use, that means you can’t use coupons in the store AND also redeem the offers in the app. You will need to do one or the other.
The offers available in Checkout 51 are available in limited quantities. It’s a good idea to check the app before you shop to make sure the offers are still “LIVE” (available) in your account. Don’t forget to submit your receipt right away!
How does the CASH BACK part work?
One thing about this app that might be a turn off for some people is that the cashout minimum is $20. That means, that in order to “cash out” (get the money you have earned), you need to earn at least $20 first. This might seem like a lot and maybe not worth the effort but do not be discouraged by that!
Once you reach the $20 cash back minimum, you can request a check (mailed to your address) or you can use PayPal to get your money. That part is easy!
While, it might take you longer to reach $20, compared to other cash out apps, eventually, you will receive that money! It’s your money, you deserve it… you might just have to wait a little bit longer to get it back. It’s kind of like putting on a jacket you haven’t worn in months and finding a $20 bill in the pocket! You wouldn’t throw that $20 bill out would you? So don’t throw away the idea of using Checkout 51 to save either! 🙂
